Do it! Don’t do it!

Don’t touch like that today.
Let’s move by each other, like in dance,
creating tension in our play
until comes the chance
where we might meet
with veracity, body to body.

Don’t smile like that tonight.
I want your lips to curl,
resisting a smile which might
make you blush and unfurl
ribbons of laughter. Bind me
with these ribbons, however tight.

Don’t look at me like that tomorrow.
Avoid my gaze: make me feel
I’m simply borrowed.
When I turn in small sorrow
throw your arms around me,
laughing your ribbons about me
and yesterday, we’ll repeat
